Developing Your Intuition

Have you ever had that nagging doubt about something you are about to do but you ignore it.  Then things go wrong and you realize you should have listened to that nagging sensation in the pit of your stomach.

This is your intuition.  Your intuition helps you make quick decisions and can often tell you when something is "off".

You can develop this ability and make it stronger, allowing you to make better judgements and decisions in your life.  The intuitions work very much like a muscle.  The more you tap into it and use it then the better it works for you.

Over the years I have chosen to ignore my intuition so many times and lived to regret it!  I always thought it was just insecure doubts and pushed these feelings aside only to regret it later.  I have learnt through experience to listen to that nagging sensation and it has served me well.

We all have "chatter" going on in our heads, our brains have a lot of work to do on a daily basis. Decisions to make, things to remember, thoughts and feelings and observations about our surroundings.  It can be a little tricky to pick out that voice or feeling of intuition at work.

Your ego has a voice.  Its usually the loudest, telling you what to do, what it wants and comparing you to others.  It is full of it's own self importance and wants you to be the best. It wants you to have the fancy things in life to prove to yourself that you are successful.

It also tells you all your shortfalls compared to other people, It tells you to be the best, to show off, to brag and to prove to yourself that you are worthy.

The intuition is the quieter voice, that softly encourages you or suggests  not to do something.  The intuition's voice is often accompanied by "gut" feelings which come out of nowhere.  You get a niggling not to do something or not to go somewhere.

It can come as an uneasy feeling when you are thinking about doing something.  It can also come as a gentle determination feeling when you are thinking about changing something in your life.  Your intuitions can serve as a good guide in your life and can help you  on your journey through life.

The tricks to developing your intuition can be things like

1.  Quietening the "chatter" in your head so the thoughts and feelings from intuition can be felt and heard.  Meditating, Yoga or walking in nature can help to quiet your mind.

2.  Listening and feeling the first instincts you feel when you are about to make a decision.  Is there nagging doubts?  Do you feel things are not right? Is your gut saying no?

3.  Trusting what you feel.  Believing that nagging feeling and acting accordingly.  The more you trust your intuition, the stronger it will become.

Many successful people in life have changed their lives by listening to their intuition even when others  doubted them.  I believe you intuition helps you stay on track with your life and make choices that will serve you better.
